Osita Iheme (Pawpaw) Speaks on Women and Marriage

With his screen twin brother, Chinedu Ikedieze—fondly known as Aki—already married and expecting his first child with his lovely wife, Nneoma, Osita Iheme, famously called Pawpaw, finds himself quietly yearning for love. As the New Year unfolds, the Nollywood superstar is openly seeking a life partner and has taken his quest to God through heartfelt prayers.

In an exclusive interview with EE, the Aba-born entertainer from Imo State shared his desire to settle down this year.

“The challenge is that I do not know whom to marry. I’m not really searching per se—of course, I have many female friends and fans. Some are even very close to me, but choosing the person I will spend the rest of my life with is what has delayed my settling down. God will guide me, because with Him, all things are possible,” Pawpaw revealed.

Waiting on God’s Timing

When asked about how soon he expects divine guidance in finding his life partner, Iheme, who still mourns the loss of his father, stayed mysterious.

“I know I will get married someday. It could be tomorrow, this month, or even next month. But the exact day is in God’s hands. He alone will help me make the right choice. After all, he who finds a wife finds a good thing…”

Will His Wife Be an Actress?

Considering that Aki married within the Nollywood family, we asked Pawpaw if he envisions marrying an actress.

“I do not know, and I wouldn’t want to disclose anything about my future wife or even give clues. But yes, I can marry an actress. There are a couple in the picture, but I also have someone I confide in. Honestly, I’m not even sure if I’m still searching because love has been kind to me. God knows I need a wife, and He will provide the right one.”

A Surprise in the Offing?

Friends and close associates of the decorated actor—who received the MFR national honor from former President Goodluck Jonathan last year—hint that Pawpaw might surprise fans by unveiling his sweetheart during his upcoming birthday on February 20.

From Aba to Nollywood Stardom

Osita Iheme, the youngest of five children—four boys and a girl—rose to fame in 2002 with his iconic role as Pawpaw in the blockbuster Aki na Ukwa, produced by Amayo Uzo Philips.
